Innovation and cohesion for a resilient, green and digital transition

EWRC 2021: Innovation and cohesion for a resilient, green and digital transition

The workshop addressing “Innovation and cohesion for a resilient, green and digital transition” will take place on 13th October from 9:30 am to 11:00 am as an integral part of the official programme of the 19th European Week of Regions and Cities (Code: 13WS21284).

Moderated by MEP Jan Olbrycht (PL/EPP), this workshop will highlight different regional best practices, which will showcase from multiple angles how cohesion funds support citizens by placing them centre stage. The common objective at the subnational level is to enable the transition towards a sustainable and digital society.

Socially innovative solutions involve citizens via a bottom-up approach. Their engagement ensures that nobody is left behind in a fair and sustainable recovery. In the context of the health crisis, regional digitalisation strategies provide innovative solutions through cohesion funds to support citizens, businesses and public services alike. Regions reshaped programmes to respond to the health crisis, delivering new activities to build resilience and strengthen recovery. The debate will facilitate knowledge exchange and capacity building between policy experts from the partner regions and beyond.

This workshop will be held in English and feature speakers and videos from Saxony-Anhalt (DE), Mazovia (PL), Vysočina (CZ), Achterhoek (NL), Wales (UK) and Valencia (ES).
