Saxony-Anhalt as a model region for green hydrogen

Saxony-Anhalt as a model region for green hydrogen

On 7 November in Brussels, the Minister for Science, Energy, Climate Protection and Environment of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, Prof Dr Armin Willingmann, is organising an event "Saxony-Anhalt on the way to a model region for green hydrogen – chances and challenges in the context of European energy and climate policy".

Saxony-Anhalt already offers excellent starting conditions for the development of a green hydrogen economy and has decades of experience in production, transport and industrial use of hydrogen. Besides the specific regional advantages, the regulatory framework is of particular relevance for the rapid transformation towards sustainable hydrogen production and utilization. Therefore, the European requirements for energy and climate policy play an increasingly important role.

Against this backdrop, the current development is presented by reference to three special hydrogen projects from the region, which is followed by a panel discussion concerning the opportunities and challenges of a green hydrogen economy in context of the European energy and climate policy.

You may find the invitation and the agenda of the event attached. Registrations will be accepted up until 30 October 2022 under this link.
