European Commission launches the Harnessing Talent Platform- Call for Working Group Participation

The Harnessing Talent Platform (HTP) is a newly formed knowledge-building and experience-exchange platform, which seeks to support regions in addressing the consequences of the demographic change and in mitigating the challenges associated with the decline of tertiary educated populations across the EU. It ensures that impacted regions receive the guidance, information and knowledge they need to elaborate, consolidate, develop and implement tailored and comprehensive strategies to train, attract and retain talents.

Here's what you can expect from the HTP in the near future:

  • Access to tailored technical assistance for regions dealing with demographic challenges and brain divide
  • Working Groups exploring solutions for addressing common challenges related to demographic change and the decline of tertiary educated population in the fields of Health, Digital, Research & Innovation and Territorial.
  • Events, workshops and webinars promoting dialogue, learning, and networking among platform users.
  • A dedicated helpdesk providing guidance and assistance to regions in need, ensuring prompt and effective support.
  • Access to a database of knowledge, information, and best practices related to addressing demographic change and talent development in regions.
  • Opportunities to showcase success stories, innovative approaches, and good practices, inspiring and motivating others.

As there are several calls to be launched on the website in July and September, including one for direct support to regions.

A call is now open until 22 September for stakeholders at EU, national and regional level to be part of 4 Working groups on the topics of Digital, Health, Research & Innovation and Territorial. The Working groups will exchange ideas, solutions, knowledge and resources to help EU regions dealing with demographic challenges to attract, retain and develop talent.

  • Regular working group meetings (physical in Brussels and online)
  • A forum for strategic exchange, deploying problem-solving, advocacy, and stakeholder inclusion principles
  • Gathering and producing knowledge on regional talent development challenges, impacts, strategies, and best practices
  • Assisting local and regional authorities in implementing tailored and comprehensive solutions to tackle development issues
  • Opportunities to enhance your network through discussions with experts in the field of (regional) talent development.
