The Commission is organising a high-level conference on the collaborative economy on 11 October in Brussels. The conference aims to take stock of policy, regulatory and market developments since the adoption of the Commission Communication on the collaborative economy in June 2016 and to discuss policy solutions.
Commissioner Bieńkowska will open the conference. Member of the European Parliament Nicola Danti and Margarete Schramböck, Austrian Minister for Economy and Digitalisation will present their views and Ann Mettler, Head of the European Political Strategy Centre, will deliver a keynote speech. Three parallel panels will be organised focusing on employment issues, collaborative short-term accommodation rental services and horizontal platform issues. Closing remarks will be delivered by Vice-President Katainen.
