From the Paris Agreement, through COP24 to a Clean Air Strategy for European regions

The European Union has long been committed to international efforts directed at tackling climate change by setting up a comprehensive package of policy measures aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions progressively until 2050. Ambitious climate and energy targets are also pursued by national stakeholders and regions which are determined to achieve the transformation towards a low-carbon economy. Therefore, ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference held in Katowice (Poland), we would like to foster debate about the EU clean air strategy, to show how regions respond to the air pollution challenges and what other actions could be financed within the current and future MMF. The conference “From the Paris Agreement, through COP24 to a Clean Air Strategy for European regions”, organised jointly by prof. Jerzy Buzek, Member of the European Parliament, Chairman of Industry, Research and Energy Committee (ITRE), the South Poland House in Brussels (initiative of Małopolska, Silesia - ERRIN members and Opolskie Regions) and the Chamber of Commerce Polish District Heating, will be held in the European Parliament (room 5E3) on 20 November 2018  from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. An agenda of the event is attached herewith. To participate, please write to secretariat@southpolandhouse.eu before 9th November.
