At this seminar, you get to learn about the results, and discuss the findings of a major study on University-Business Cooperation, that has been undertaken by an international consortium. The study was implemented over a period of 2 years and involved an extensive literature review, interviews with experts, the writing of 51 case studies and two major surveys targeted at higher education institutions and businesses. The surveys were translated into most official EU languages, resulting in responses from more than 17.000 individuals. The study investigated a number of different dimensions: it looked at the different types of UBC, at existing support mechanisms (from policies over strategies to structures, approaches and operational activities), at regulatory framework conditions and socio-economic conditions, at barriers, drivers and motivators. Last but not least, the study looked also at existing UBC monitoring tools and indicators.
