The Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York, three of the UK’s leading research intensive universities, have a representative office in Brussels, the White Rose Brussels Office, which opened in April 2016.
The purpose of the office is to engage with key stakeholders in Brussels to support and influence policy and research developments, working with key European institutions such as the European Commission and the European Parliament, non-governmental organisations, businesses, other Brussels liaison offices and our network of alumni based in the area.
The office will also engage in horizon scanning and opportunity spotting in areas of strategic importance to the three universities as well as information gathering.
The work of the office will focus on three strategic priorities – Climate Change, Food Security and Health – that are important research areas for the three White Rose Universities as well as challenges facing Europe and the world.
