East Netherlands development agency (Oost NL) is looking for a Liaison Officer, (1.0 FTE), East Netherlands Innovation Profile, Horizon 2020 and East Netherlands companies connector.  East Netherlands Innovation profile* East Netherlands is Smart & Healthy. Numerous knowledge institutes and companies in the Agro-Food, Life Sciences and Health, High Tech Systems and Materials, Energy and Environment Technology sectors are at the forefront in Europe. To give East Netherlands a more prominent position in Europe the ‘Innovation Profile East Netherlands’ has been established with the aim of: Creating a prominent position for East Netherlands; Increasing the chance of knowledge institutes and companies in East Netherlands being granted EU funds, in particular in the central European programmes, like Horizon 2020; Contributing to the European Union’s long-term strategy to become an internationally competitive, social and green market economy. *The East Netherlands Innovation Profile is an initiative of the province of Gelderland, the province of Overijssel, CHE, FoodValley NL, Arnhem-Nijmegen University of Applied Science, Health Valley, Novel-T, KiEMT, Radboud UMC, Radboud University, Saxion University of Applied Science, Oost NL, University of Twente, Van Hall Larenstein, VNO-NCW Midden, Wageningen University & Research, Windesheim University of Applied Science and the East Netherlands Regions. The launching of the East Netherlands Innovation Profile in Brussels in 2016 during the European Week of Regions and Cities marked the first step. Now we need a strategic action plan for the long term. Part of this plan, developed by the Administrative Committee of the East Netherlands Innovation Profile, is the appointment of a liaison officer. Work The liaison officer: is a ‘spider in the web’ in the network of liaison officers at knowledge institutes, government agencies and cluster organisations in East Netherlands and will work closely together with the liaison-officers of the different regions of Eastern Netherlands represented in Brussels; is a ‘spider in the web’ in the network of colleagues at Oost NL and cluster organisations who can work together to signal companies with iconic projects; identifies other relevant networks and cluster organisations in Europe and establishes, in consultation with other liaison officers, who belongs to these; traces calls within H2020 and translates these into draft projects for companies in East Netherlands that match the innovation profile; links companies in East Netherlands with partners elsewhere in Europe who (want to) collaborate in a European project. Scope The liaison officer has no direct influence over the policy agenda and does not assist in responding to calls that match the innovation profile. This role (lobby) is assigned to lobbyists who are already integrated in the Brussels networks. The liaison officer can, however, provide the lobbyists with input for their lobby activities. What is expected from potential candidates a university of applied sciences or university bachelor degree and about 8/10 years of work experience in the area of European project development and/or lobbying; knowledge of and experience with project management, business development and innovation; familiarity with the East Netherlands Innovation Profile, Horizon 2020 programme and other EU programmes; a relevant and extensive network in East Netherlands; a network in Brussels concerning EU programmes, the business community and knowledge institutes in East Netherlands; you arouse enthusiasm but are also realistic; you work independently focusing on solutions and results; you are an excellent team worker and able to maintain relations; you obviously have a good command of both written and spoken Dutch and English/German (French is an advantage). Duration of the job You will be employed by Oost NL. In first instance you will be given a contract for one year. If you prove to be suitable and there are sufficient financial resources it is possible that the contract will be renewed. Self-employed candidates are also eligible for this job. Team: The liaison officer works from within the Business Development LSH Team. This team includes colleagues who also work actively for the Horizon 2020 programme. Location: the backoffice is Oost NL’s office in Apeldoorn; however, if relevant or practical the liaison officer can also use the office locations of the partners in the East Netherlands Innovation Profile in both the region and in the Brussels branches. you will work frequently in/from Brussels and will be active in visiting other EU regions. Work area: Gelderland and Overijssel (East Netherlands) and Brussels / EU. What is offered Oost NL is active as economic stimulator in Gelderland and Overijssel. The gross salary for this position as business developer is between € 5,100 and € 6,500 a month for a full time (40 hour) working week.
