From Soil to Systems: Living Labs and Artificial Intelligence for a Sustainable Future of Agriculture

The conference ‘From Soil to Systems: Living Labs and Artificial Intelligence for a Sustainable Future of Agriculture’ will be held in Brussels on 13 October 2026.

The event, organized by the Polish Science Contact Agency PolSCA of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Committee of Agronomic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the University of Florence, will focus on soil and plant health, and their role in the future of European agriculture.

Starting from the EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe”, the conference will look at how research, policy and practice can meet healthier soils, more resilient farming systems and more sustainable food production. Particular attention will be given to Living Labs, understood not as a policy slogan, but as practical spaces for testing solutions together with farmers, researchers, businesses, public authorities and local communities. The programme will also address artificial intelligence and the growing role of data in agriculture, including their potential to support soil and crop monitoring, precision farming, and better decision-making.
