Context and content
It continues to further the EU’s goals as defined in the communication 2030 Digital Compass: The European Way for the Digital Decade and in the Path to the Digital Decade policy programme.
The Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) provides strategic funding to answer these challenges, supporting projects in key capacity areas such as supercomputing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and advanced digital skills and ensuring a wide use of digital technologies across the economy and society. It supports industry, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public administration in their digital transformation with a reinforced network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH).
Moreover, this Work programme also integrates new actions and responds to contemporary challenges identified in the political priorities of the new Commission around tech sovereignty, democracy and security.
It also integrates funding opportunities related to key legislative developments recently adopted and entering their implementation phase, such as the Chips Act, the Artificial Intelligence Act, the AI Innovation Package communication, the EU Digital Identity Wallet, the Cyber Solidarity Act, the Cyber Resilience Act and the Interoperable Europe Act.
