Third Call for Proposals of the European Urban Initiative- Innovative Actions

The third call for proposals of the European Urban Initiative (EUI) - Innovative Actions will be launched in May 2024 and close in October 2024. The call is targeting innovative projects focusing on two topics: 'energy transition' and 'technology in cities', and has an indicative budget of €90 million ERDF. Each project can receive up to a maximum of €5 million ERDF co-financing, and project implementation should take place within a maximum period of 3,5 years.

Even if the call is not officially open yet for submissions, it is recommended that cities start to develop their project proposals as early as possible using the different resources available on the call page. Cities can already start working on the following steps before the opening of the call:

  • Read the third EUI-IA call topics descriptions;
  • Develop a project idea in line with one of the topics answering local challenges in your city;
  • Set up your project partnership by establishing contacts with relevant entities, e.g. public and private partners, NGOs, universities, SMEs, etc.
  • Start co-designing your project work plan framework with your project partners and stakeholders.
