Wallonian businesses work together to innovate against coronavirus

The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX), has assembled examples from the region of businesses working together to tackle the COVID-19 outbreak. Some of the examples can be found below.

Coris BioConcept, a diagnostics specialist, has developed a test that detects COVID-19 in just 15 minutes, the quicker test in the world. The development came about thanks to collaborations with different laboratories and hospitals in Belgium and the world. 

Two companies in Namur, TRAKK and Colorisprint, have worked together to produce a prototype for protective visors, which are now being delivered to regional hospitals. 

While personal protective equipment is crucial to preventing the spread of the new coronavirus, it causes a different issue in terms of waste. Another company, AMB Ecosteryl, have jumped into action to tackle the increase in medical waste, which poses a significant sanitary and environmental challenge in the midst of this crisis.
